Croatian Cricket Federation Present At American International School In Zagreb

12.03.2013.

The Croatian cricket federation (CCF) were out in the schools again on Tuesday promoting cricket in Croatia, and this time it was pupils at the American International School of Zagreb (AISZ) who got the chance to test their cricket skills out.

AISZ is located in the capital Zagreb and has a roll of around 250 kids. Besides around 20% of the kids being Croats, the school is made up by a number of different nationalities.

CCF's Paul Musin and Zagreb Hawks captain Douglas Kennedy were guests at the AISZ's UK Passport Day, a day where the kids got to learn about all things British, including literature, history, music, fashion and sport.

Paul and Douglas ran quick cricket sessions with over 30 grade 9 & 10 kids, followed by a session with over 50 grade 6, 7 and 8 kids.

All the kids had a chance to learn a bit about the basics of the game of cricket, see some cricket equipment such as pads, bats, gloves and thigh pads up close, and also have a chance to have a go with the bat which they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Hawks captain Kennedy did not enjoy being hit back over his head a few times by one particular 13-year-old girl, but it was a most enjoyable day and the CCF would like to thank again staff at AISZ for their hospitality and hope we can in future work together again.
