Awards night wraps up indoor cricket season in Zagreb

Hawks and Rest of the World skipper Vivek Sharma collected everything on offer at the Croatian indoor cricket awards in the Croatian capital Zagreb last night.

Diana Grbavac presented Sharma (pictured) with the Katich Cup after his Hawks side took out a nailbitting series 4-3. The Falcons, who looked gone for all money when they went 3-1 down in the series, staged a comeback to see them level the series at 3-3 and take the Katich Cup into a final decider. It was not enough as the Hawks saved their best for last and wrapped up the series with a convincing victory.

Sharma also collected the Uzdanica Cup with his Rest of the World side winning the series 1-0 against the Croatian selection. The big fast bowler also jointly took out the Katich Cup player of the series award with Paul Mušin.

Sharma was not finished there, his team 'The Extras' with Pero Bošnjak and Jasen Butković, winning the 'pub style quiz' which took place at the awards evening.

Cricket in the Croatian capital now moves outdoors as the curators head out to Budenec Oval to start preparing the ground for the start of the season.
