Zagreb's Hrvatski Sokol Play Friendly in Ljubljana
23.09.2013.
Zagreb's Hrvatski Sokol Cricket Club has returned back to the venue where Croatia claimed the ECC European Championship in 2004 on Sunday, when they took on Slovenia club Škofja Loka in a 35-over per side friendly match at Valburga, Slovenia.
Played in glorious conditions on a very green outfield, Hrvatski Sokol won the toss and decided to have a bat. After finding themselves in the procerious position of 35 for 5, they managed to stage somewhat of a recovery to end with a respectable 143/9. Škofja Loka got off to a quick start but thanks to some good Zagreb fielding lost wickets regularly along the way in their chase. With Škofja Loka 8 down and still needing 20-odd runs to win the game was in the balance, but a hard-hitting 42 not-out from Rajesh gave the hosts victory in the end by one wicket.
Zagreb 143/9 (P. Musin 37, C Sinovich 27*, C. Kellett 9*)
Škofja Loka 147/9 (K.Kekez 3-41, C. Osborne 2-31)
